I'm sure many of us would have received the "warning" below.
It shows you how you can "turn off" your activities (like surfing for...say, spare parts etc) from being tracked by FB. Please lah...do you really believe by turning off in FB, you won't be tracked? Firstly, only we believe that FB is not tracking us just because we turned off the tracker. Secondly, as easy as it was for us to turn off, imagine the ease with that FB can turn it on secretly?
Between FB, Insta, Google, Whatspp and possibly Bigo and Tik-Tok, we are FINISHED in terms of privacy. You can do all the deleting of the websites you have visited, no use. Your browsing history (or shall we say, proclivities>) has already been made into a unique algorithm, chained to you and you have a digital footprint etched in the cloud.
I recall a 1991 movie called Enemy of the State that showed how the government tracks you. That was then, 30 years ago. Technology has multiplied in leaps and bounds since then.
In China, the CCP has a facial recognition AI that has captured more than 1.3 bil "faces" - that's like 87% of the people who live there. Big brother is always watching you. I'm pretty sure North Korea and many other repressive regimes will have the same.
The only way someone is going to get off the grid is to disappear into some remote jungle and not have a single modern equipment with him. Forget your handphone. The SIM card signal, even when the phone is off, triangulates your location.
To be sure one is never digitalized, the next time you have a kid, have him in a kampong and don't register him. If you had a midwife, kill her so that no one but you only know of his existence. Then disappear into a remote jungle in Sarawak.
Teach him (or her) how to take on the RED eye of the AI world that he was born into. Wait a minute, there was another movie like this...Anna.
